The Legislative Committee meets quarterly:

The PHC legislative committee meets 4-5 times a year to discuss Public Health Department legislative priorities on the county and state level.

 

The Committee updates the full Public Health Commission, identifying which bills, statutes, and measures to advocate for in line with Alameda County Public Health Department and Alameda County community priorities.

 

The Committee advises the County Councils and Commissions on bills, statutes and measures of interest to the PHC, and may identify new pieces of legislation to be written or revised to better the public health of Alameda County residents.

The Alameda County Public Health Commission (ACPHC) is an advisory committee tasked with reviewing health needs, providing policy recommendations, and building community capacity as related to public health priorities.

AUTHORITY

Established June 19, 1979 by resolution number 183410, as the Public Health Advisory Committee. The name was change by amendment of their Bylaws on July 1, 2008 and September 27, 2016.
